Services for Hewitt Spencer of Indianola will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Mount Zion Heathman Missionary Baptist Church with burial following in the church cemetery.
Mr. Spencer, 71, died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2018.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Friday at Byas Funeral Home, which is in charge of arrangements.
The Rev. Joe Hodges will officiate at the services.
Mr. Spencer is survived by his devoted wife of 36 years, Sandra Smith Spencer; seven daughters, Jemika Spencer, Jada Stephens and Haley Stevenson, all of Indianola, Roslyn C. Walker of Southaven, Shawntreece (Earnest) Nelson of Moorhead, Leiandrea Lewis of Tupelo and Kimberly Slater of Ruleville; six sons, Terry Petty of Chicago, Randle Spencer and Antonian Smith, both of Memphis, Michael Spencer of San Leandro, Calif, and Christopher Spencer and Tyler Stevenson, both of Indianola; five sisters, Ellen (Elijah) Mack, Mozelle Nutall and Beullah Holland, all of Indianola, Viella Tigues of Inverness and Betty Parker of Long Beach, Calif.; three brothers, L.D. Spencer of Indianola, Roosevelt (Mary) Spencer of Hattiesburg and Ramsey Hill of Oakland, Calif.; 27 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
