Hiram Michael Wheeler, 61, of Indianola, passed away Thursday, Dec. 28, 2017 at South Sunflower County Hospital in Indianola.
Mike was born Jan. 10, 1956 in Lambert to John Marion and Callie Mae Holloway Wheeler. Upon graduation from high school, he joined the United States Marine Corps. Mike worked as a forklift operator for SuperValu for 32 years prior to his retirement in December. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, taking care of his cats, and spending time with his family. Mike was a good man and was very kind. He attended Northwood Church in Wiggins.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Richard Wheeler, Harold Wheeler, and Butch Wheeler; and one granddaughter, Lora Westbrook.
He is survived by his wife, Amy Neal Wheeler of Wiggins; two daughters, Brenda Harris of Isola, and Rebecca Burchfield of Wiggins; one brother, Mickey Wheeler of Florence; two sisters, Mary Joyce Goss of Charleston, and Lucy Wheeler of Cleveland; 9 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.
The family received friends Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2018, from 11 a.m. until the 12 p.m. memorial service at Burton Funeral Home in Indianola.
