KANSAS CITY, KAN. — Services for Jai Feria Barnes of Kansas City, Kan., will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church in Indianola.
Mr. Barnes, 28, died Saturday, July 1, 2017.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Friday at Byas Funeral Home, which is in charge of arrangements.
Burial will be in Riverside Memorial Gardens.
The Rev. Ellis Johnson will officiate at the services.
Mr. Barnes is survived by his parents, Shirley Barnes and Vernon Applewhite, both of Indianola; three daughters, Zemari DeMoss, Caleena DeMoss and Jaiaysia Jamison, all of Kansas City; four sons, Jai Barnes Jr., Jamaree Gumm, Jaikeese Barnes and Iman Barnes, all of Kansas City; nine brothers, Michael Barnes of Marietta, Ga., Corean Barnes of Walla Walla, Wash., D’Angelo Applewhite, Vernon Applewhite Jr., Eddie Applewhite, Mario Applewhite, Lamarcus Applewhite, Jeriah Barnes and Earnest Smith, all of Indianola; six sisters, Niambi Barnes of Kansas City, Deniscia Barnes and Earlene Applewhite, both of Indianola, Tomorrow Curtis of Parson, Kan., and Julia Swain of Stone Mountain, Ga.; and a host of other relatives and friends.
