Janice Knight Gullett, 70, of Inverness, passed away Tuesday, July 25, 2023, at home surrounded by her family.
Janice was born Dec. 15, 1952, in Moorhead, where she grew up with her five siblings and childhood friend, Virginia Ann Hughes Guidry. Many memories were made in Moorhead, Inverness, and Ruleville areas. She graduated from Ruleville High School in 1970. Janice later moved to Brandon where she made her home with her beloved husband, James Richard “Ricky” Gullett, and worked at Rankin County Schools, retiring in 2018. Their hearts called them back home to the Delta where she worked part-time at Jennings Machine Shop and Delta South Motors. Janice loved going on trips with her sisters, family and friends. She always cheered her grandchildren on in soccer, baseball, softball, and football – she was their biggest fan. In her early years she loved riding horses with her husband and going on trail rides.
Janice was preceded in death by her parents, Blanche and Howard Knight.
She is survived by her husband of 23 years, Ricky Gullett; sons, Edward Howard “Jimbo” Odom and Terry Joe “TJ” Odom (Leslie); daughters, Mandy Hubbard (Ramey) and Kacey Gullett; sisters, Patricia Steed, Betty Bartholomew (Tom), Wanda Horne (Jimmy), and Alice Pyles (Tim); brother, Frank Knight (Merrie); grandchildren, Sarah Keeton Odom, Gray Odom, Jax Odom, Greer Odom, Preston Odom, Adelaide Odom, Lylli-Cohen Odom, Madison Hubbard, Mari Mason Hubbard, and Kacen Gullett; and countless nieces and nephews to cherish her memories.
