Jerry Michael Maxey, 72, of Indianola, passed away Tuesday, April 30, 2024, in Indianola, due to injuries sustained in an auto accident.
Jerry was born January 14, 1952, in Greenwood, to Christine Aust Maxey and Ernest Maxey. He was raised in Humphreys County where he graduated from Humphreys County High School. After high school, he attended the University of Mississippi. Jerry was a free spirit; he liked to be by himself. He loved doing carpentry work and was good at building things. Jerry was his own person, and he enjoyed the simple things in life, a good cold beer, watching television, and his occasional travels. He also loved spending time with his nieces and nephews.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Christine and Ernest Maxey and his brother, Butch Maxey.
He is survived by his brother, Bobby Maxey (Kim) of Indianola; nieces and nephews, Lindsay Snow, Cody Maxey, KC Maxey, Preston Maxey, and Stephanie Bourque; and nine great nieces and nephews.
A memorial celebration honoring Jerry will be held at 3:00 pm, Friday, May 3, 2024, at Rebel Farms, 273 Sykes Road, Indianola, MS 38751. Burton Funeral Home of Indianola has been entrusted with arrangements.
