Jimmy Dale Reynolds, 81, of Indianola, passed away Saturday, December 16, 2023, at Merit Health – River Oaks, in Jackson.
Jimmy was born March 5, 1942, in Calhoun County to Brooks and Annie Reynolds. He was raised in Tallahatchie County. Jimmy was a United States Air Force Veteran. He worked for many years as a dragline operator until his retirement. Jimmy’s, most known as “Catfish” or “Jimmy Catfish”, morals ran deep. He was a Christian man who loved the great outdoors. He valued his family and he instilled his passion of hunting, fishing, and the lessons of life learned over the many years and passed times shared with loved ones. His life was energetic and he would always make the room smile. The things he has taught and the ones who knew him will always be grateful. A person that loves the outdoors could only dream Jimmy Catfish’s life. So when we remember him, he would want to be remembered for the stories he told and the great memories he shared with his loved friends and family. Jimmy also loved his dogs, and times spent on the Mississippi River. He was a devoted member of Cleveland Church of God.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Teresa Reynolds; son, Barry Dale Reynolds (Maleah); daughter, Machelle Crews (Carley); brother, Brooks Reynolds, Jr. (Rebecca); three sisters, Cathy Fleming (Jerry), Shirley Boyette, and Helen Satchfield (Eddie); two grandchildren, Claire Crews and Cody Dale Reynolds (Kory); and two great grandchildren, Sawyer Miller Reynolds and Chase Davis Reynolds.
