JoAnn Cleveland Ragland, 81, of Belzoni, passed away peacefully Monday, September 11, 2017 at her home with her loving family by her side.
She was born November 26, 1935 in Glen Allan to Timothy Hamilton Cleveland and Louisa Ann Jackson Cleveland. JoAnn, affectionately known as JoJo, married Robert Curtis Ragland on September 30, 1952. She was retired from Citizens Bank where she worked in bookkeeping for over 30 years. Mrs. Ragland put God first, then husband, children, and grandchildren. She was an outstanding cook and enjoyed flowers and working in her yard. JoJo was a beautiful person inside and out and was a devout prayer warrior. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Belzoni.
Mrs. Ragland was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Mildred Milano, Sara Starnes, and Sue Russell; and one brother, Glenn Cleveland.
She leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 64 years, Rev. Robert C. Ragland, Sr.; two sons, Robert Ragland, Jr. and wife Cindy, and Mike Ragland; one daughter, Tami Ragland Hawkins and husband Bubba, all of Belzoni; one brother, Morris Cleveland and wife Florence of Greenville; nine grandchildren, Andrea, Dana, Robert, Tim, Kristin, Dillon, Jared, Taylor, and Leigh; and ten great-grandchildren, Jay, Austin, Sarah Brook, Ellie, Emerson, Blakelyn, Weston, Sawyer, Charlotte, and Emma.
The family received friends on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service at First Baptist Church in Belzoni. Burial followed in Belzoni Cemetery. Burton Funeral Home of Indianola was in charge of arrangements.
