Julia Caldwell Breaux, 73, of Lafayette, Louisiana, died peacefully in her sleep on Friday, Sept. 7, 2018, at Camelot of Broussard Nursing Home.
She was born on Dec. 11, 1944, in Indianola, to the late Frank and Julia DeRouen Caldwell. She grew up in Indianola and later graduated from the University of Mississippi with both undergraduate and master’s degrees.

Julia never missed an opportunity to tell a joke and would befriend strangers with her humor.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank Caldwell and Julia DeRouen Caldwell and her sister, Hazel Holmes Caldwell.
She is survived by her three children, son Henry J. Breaux and his wife, Melissa Ann of Charlotte, N.C.; daughter Marguerite Breaux Potier and her husband, Benjamin M. Potier Jr. of Lafayette, La; and daughter Marie-Anne Breaux and her husband Vincent Coppejans of Amsterdam, The Netherlands; and seven grandchildren, Peyton Breaux and Madeline Breaux of Charlotte, N.C., William C. Guidry, Jeanne-Marie Guidry, Benjamin M. Potier, III and Eleanor Potier of Lafayette, La.; and Oliver Breaux Coppejans of Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
The family would like to thank all the many doctors, nurses, and caretakers that helped throughout her long illness, with a special thanks to Paula O’Brien and Alecia Ferney for their friendship and many years of loving and compassionate care.
