Funeral services for Lisa Gail Winter Taylor, 62, of Greenville were at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 22, at Avon United Methodist Church. She died Tuesday, April 18, 2023. Burial was at County Line Cemetery, under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Greenville.
Lisa was born March 30, 1961, in Clarksdale, to Charles Gilbert Winter and Mary Alice Winter.
She was a registered nurse with the Greenville Public School District. Her talent and passion shined through the way she truly cared for her children. She was an avid animal lover and enjoyed working in her flower garden and just being out in nature. She looked forward to seeing the return of her hummingbirds each year. You would often see her riding the side-by-side on the dirt roads enjoying life.
Her love for God kept her active in the life and ministry of Avon United Methodist Church.
She enjoyed her grandchildren more than anything, as well as playing with the kids from the neighborhood. She was a grown-up teenager at heart.
Lisa was preceded in death by her father and a sister, Sharon Christian.
She is survived by her husband, Ollie D. Taylor; her mother, Mary Alice Winter of Olive Branch; one son, Milus (Nicole) Hughey of Batesville, Ark.; two daughters, Claire (David) Jones of Graceville, Fla., and Melissa Grace Hughey of Sunflower; grandchildren, Abrianna, Raelynn, Mylah and Brennan Hughey, Jamison Hughey, and Brayden Jones.; sisters, Charlotte McGinnis, Rene (Gregory) Garrett and Stephanie Sanders; aunts, Glenda Fox and Barbara (Kimbol) Jones; and a host of nieces and nephews.
The family received friends from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday at the church.
