Services for Major Stanford Jr. of Shaw will be at 1pm. Saturday at New Mount Arria Missionary Baptist Church, Indianola. Burial will follow at Riverside Memorial Gardens, Indianola.
Mr. Stanford, 92, died Thursday, March 30, 2023.
Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. today at Byas Funeral Home, Indianola, which is in charge of arrangements.
The Rev. William Earl Reed will officiate.
Mr. Stanford is survived by: his wife, Laura Stanford; two daughters, Sonja Tolbert and Kay Golden; one sister, Ethel Hamilton; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a host of other relatives and friends.
