Services for Mario T. Applewhite of Indianola will be at 12 noon Saturday at Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Inverness.
Mr. Applewhite, 31, died Thursday, Sept. 19, 2019.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, with a family hour from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., at Byas Funeral Home, which is in charge of arrangements.
Burial will be in Riverside Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Applewhite is survived by his father, Verna Applewhite of Indianola; his mother, Shirley Spivey-Applewhite of Lithonia, Ga.; his fiancée, Constance Jennings of Inverness; two sons, Demarrion Applewhite and Mario Applewhite Jr., both of Indianola; one daughter, Ah’riyah Rice of Texas; nine brothers, Dangelo Applewhite, Lamarquis Applewhite, Vernon Applewhite, Chad Hayes and Messiah Applewhite, all of Indianola, Michael Barnes of Atlanta, Vernon Jackson and Julius Jackson, both of Peoria, Ill. and Corean Barnes of Washington state; twelve sisters, Julia Swain and Kenya Applewhite, both of Lithonia, Ga., Verlicia Walker and Vernetta Walker, both of North Carolina, Kimberly Lay, Shanburnika Stewart, Angela Jackson, Adrianne Bell and Serenity Bell, all of Indianola, Danielle Earvin of Texas, and Nambia Barnes and Tomorrow Curtis, both of Kansas City; and a host of other relatives and friends.
