Mary Bell Berryhill Irvin, 95, of Greensboro, Alabama, and formerly of Isola, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2018 at Colonial Haven Nursing Home in Greensboro.
She was born Dec. 23, 1922, in Utica to Thomas and Betty Beasley Berryhill. Mrs. Irvin was a serious person but was very funny and had a wonderful sense of humor. She enjoyed fishing and cooking fish. Mrs. Irvin was known for her wonderful strawberry cakes and enjoyed making them for her Berryhill family reunions. She was a very devoted mother and loved her children and grandchildren. Mrs. Irvin worked for South Sunflower County Hospital in Indianola as a bookkeeper for many years until her retirement. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Isola.
Mrs. Irvin was preceded in death by her parents; husband, C. Troy Irvin; one brother; and one sister.
She is survived by two sons, William Troy “Billy” Irvin and wife Nancy of Branson, Mo. and Wesley Wayne Irvin and wife Peggy of Uniontown, Ala.; four grandchildren, Wes Irvin, Jason Irvin, William Troy “Bill” Irvin Jr., and Pamela Ann Irvin; ten great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
The family received friends Saturday, Jan. 27, 2018, from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service at Burton Funeral Home in Indianola. Burial followed in Hickory Grove Cemetery in Inverness. Burton Funeral Home of Indianola was entrusted with arrangements.
