Michael David Carlson, 55, of Inverness, passed away Saturday, Feb. 23, 2019 at his home.
Michael, affectionately known as Mike, was born Jan. 24, 1964 to Kenneth and Judith Marie Hurley Carlson in Michigan. Mike married the love of his life Kate Stainback Duncan in 1982. He worked for Con Fish for 18 years prior to his retirement in 2009. Mike was an avid University of Michigan fan and collected Lionel model trains and loved tinkering with them when his health was better. He could build and fix anything. Mike was a member of First Baptist Church of Inverness, where he served as a deacon and a choir member. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather but most of all, a child of God.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Kate Duncan Carlson of Inverness; his parents, Kenneth and Judith Carlson of Sebastian, Fla.; three daughters, Leah Carlson Ferretti and her husband Blake of Cleveland, Lauren Beth Carlson and her fiancé Guy Stewart Jr. of Indianola, and Whitney Ann Carlson of Indianola; one brother, Lyle Carlson and his wife Melissa of Hendersonville, Tenn.; one sister, Laurie Carlson Fuller of Maryville, Tenn.; and six grandchildren, Thomas Ferretti, Olivia Stewart, Emma Stewart, Henry Ferretti, Blake Ferretti, and Logan Stewart.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2019 from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service at First Baptist Church in Inverness. Burial will follow in Hickory Grove Cemetery in Inverness.
