Services for Murphy Mays of Inverness will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Inverness.
Mr. Mays, 88, died Friday, April 27, 2018.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Friday at Byas Funeral Home, which is in charge of arrangements.
Burial will be in Riverside Memorial Gardens.
Pastor Eddie Johnson will officiate at the services.
Mr. Mays is survived by three sons, Willie Mays of Indianola, Ray Mays of Inverness and Tommy Mays of Atlanta; six daughters, Mary Mays-Bell of Vicksburg, Louise Wilson of Kankee, Ill., Josephine M. Anderson of Greenville, and Sarah Mays, Ada Mays and Idella Mays-Johnson, all of Inverness; two brothers, Elder Eddie D. Mays of Morton and Billy Ray Mays of Jackson; two sisters, Mae Ruth Sims of Pittsburg, Calif. and Loretta Reese of Morton; 26 grandchildren; and a host of great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
