Sarah Nell Brewer McMinn, 88, of Inverness, passed away Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at her home.
She was born June 24, 1929 in Sunflower County to Malcija Enlo Brewer and Sallie Mae Hopper Brewer. Mrs. McMinn married Herbert O. McMinn in 1948 and together, they made their home in Inverness. She worked for many years as an insurance clerk and bookkeeper for Mid Delta Insurance Agency and later Inverness Insurance Agency in Inverness. Mrs. McMinn was a member of Waco Missionary Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Herbert; four brothers, Joel Winston Brewer, Cecil Brewer, William Brewer, and Bobby Brewer; and one sister, Susie Malone.
Mrs. McMinn is survived by three daughters, Diane McMinn of Inverness, Sarah “Sissy” Parker of Winona, and Roxie Hoke and husband Jack of Belzoni; two sisters, Margaret Ritchey of Indianola, and Mary Dickerson of Bolton; one granddaughter, Amanda Stevens Champagne and husband Clinton; and one great grandson, Cash Parker Champagne.
A private family graveside service was held Friday, September 15, 2017 at Hickory Grove Cemetery in Inverness. Burton Funeral Home of Indianola was in charge of arrangements.
