Shirley Flynn Evans, 75, of Inverness, passed away Saturday, June 23, 2018, at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas.
Shirley was born Jan. 3, 1943 in Byhalia to Walter Leroy and Alma Strickland Flynn. She worked for many years as a legal secretary and was currently the owner of Shirley Evans Abstracting. Shirley had a sincere love of animals and was always feeding every stray she found. She always kept cat and dog food in her car just in case she came across a stray animal. Shirley adored her family and was a loving mother, sister, and friend.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Joe Evans.
Shirley is survived by her son, Ronald Evans of Greenville; two brothers, Mike Flynn and wife Paula of Oxford and Barry Flynn of The Villages, Fla.; two sisters, Gwen Ingle and husband Buzz of Birmingham, Ala. and Linda Durrett of Inverness; two granddaughters, Mary Ashton Evans and Kayla Elizabeth Evans; and four great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Saturday, June 30, 2018 from 11 a.m. until 12 p.m. at Inverness United Methodist Church in Inverness. Burton Funeral Home of Indianola has been entrusted with final arrangements.
