Thomas Odell Winstead Sr., 49, of Greenville, passed away Sunday, March 17, 2024, at Delta Health – The Medical Center.
Tommy was born Sept. 20, 1974, in Jackson, to James Paul Winstead and Beverly Vance Winstead. He was raised in Indianola but later moved to Greenville. He attended Lighthouse Pentecostal Church in Greenville. Tommy worked as a painter and drywall specialist. He loved fishing, NASCAR racing, and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, James and Beverly Winstead, as well as his brother, Jamie Vance.
He is survived by three sons, Justin Blake Cantrell (Shelby) of Vicksburg, Thomas Odell Winstead Jr. (Kayla) of Hollandale, and Zackary Lawrence Winstead (Skylar) of Greenville; three daughters, Lindsey Winstead (Scott) of Indianola, Destiny Smith of Memphis, and Amber Winstead of Leesburg, Ga.; one brother, Jeff Winstead of Clarksdale; two sisters, Cathy Hughes of Greenbriar, Ala., and Michelle Taylor of Lake Village, Ark.; 11 grandchildren; a special niece, Kayla Cantrell; two special great-nephews, Lawrence Cantrell Jr. and Michael Cantrell; and a host of other nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. today at Burton Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 2 p.m. Burial will follow at Indianola City Cemetery. Burton Funeral Home of Indianola has been entrusted with arrangements.
