Timothy Wade Downs, 65, of Greenwood, formerly of Indianola, passed away Thursday, October 5, 2017 at Greenwood Leflore Hospital.
Tim was born August 30, 1952 in Indianola to Pervis and Lucille Downs. He was educated in the Indianola Public Schools. Tim worked for many years at Mac’s Auto Parts in Greenwood before retiring in 2008. He was always very entertaining, had a larger than life personality and was loved by everyone. Tim was a very goodhearted person who always loved children.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter, Lisa Downs.
Tim is survived by his wife, Julia Scott Downs of Greenwood; one son, Tim Downs, Jr. and wife Rosabelle of Atlanta, Ga.; and three step-children, Derek Edward Heinrich of Portland, Ore., Patrick Heinrich of Greenwood, and Tammy Michele Sessions of Donaldsonville, La.; one sister, Vicki Downs Brocato of Ruleville; one brother, Wallace Edward Downs and wife Carolyn of Star City, Ark.; and three grandchildren, Connor Downs of Atlanta, Ga., Devin Carter of Metairie, La. and Callan Downs of Atlanta, Ga.
The family received friends on Monday, October 9 from 1 p.m. until the 2 p.m. memorial service at Burton Funeral Home in Indianola, which was in charge of arrangements.
