Services for Vanessa Cassandra Hollins of Indianola will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 30, at Bell Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Indianola. Burial will follow at Riverside Memorial Gardens.
Ms. Hollins, 65, died Saturday, March 23, 2024.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at the church.
"Sand" as she was affectionately known, was a devoted grandmother, a caregiver to all whom she could help, a dear friend and a dedicated class member of Gentry High School Class of 1977.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Glen Stapleton.
Ms. Hollins is survived by: her mother, Norma Ruth Williams; her father, Prett Wilson; one daughter, Lakeisha White Richardson (W. Dewayne Richardson); one son, Satchel Omar Hollins; 11 brothers, William A. Hollins, Farris Hollins, Freddie Hollins, Dexter Hollins, Micheal Taylor, Rico Wilson, Patrick Thomas, Allen Wilson, Jimmy Wilson, Clarence Wilson and Chauncey Thomas; nine sisters, Shelia Applewhite, Avis Hollins, Gloria Michelle Hollins, Patsy Stapleton, Brenda Brown, Corine Smith, Ollie Thomas, Sharon Thomas and Tammy Porter; three grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Byas Funeral Home, Indianola, is in charge of arrangements.
