Winfield Trivette, 76, of Tupelo, passed away Friday, Oct. 20, 2023, at Sanctuary Hospice in Tupelo.
Winfield was born Jan. 21, 1947, in Bristol, Tenn., to Hobert and Georgia Ellison Trivette. He was a graduate of Holston Valley High School in Bristol. After high school, Winfield joined the United States Marine Corps. He served two tours in the Vietnam War as a machine gunner and honorably discharged at the rank of Sergeant. Winfield was very proud to be a Marine. After serving his country, he began his career in automotive finance and insurance. Winfield was a caring and giving man; he would do anything in the world for you. He was very smart and could do almost anything. Winfield loved his family and was a devoted son, brother, father, grandfather and uncle. He was a member of Living Faith Fellowship in Indianola.
Winfield was preceded in death by his father, Hobert Trivette; mother, Georgia Moore; and brother-in-law, Larry Woodard.
He is survived by his three children, Winfield Trivette II and Melissa Bayona, both of Orlando, Fla., and Heather Trivette of West Orange, N.J.; sister, Brenda Woodard of Indianola; two grandchildren, Alexander Bayona of Orlando and Noel Lahens of West Orange; two nephews, Larry (Chastity) Woodard of Indianola and Chris (Melanie) Woodard of Tupelo; two special great-nephews, Zack Woodard of Indianola and Mason Woodard of Tupelo; and his special caregiver, Clara (Joe) Peet.
Graveside services were held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 25, at Indianola City Cemetery with the Rev. Clay Kirksey officiating.
Burton Funeral Home of Indianola was entrusted with arrangements.
