A shooting at a Moorhead car wash Sunday evening left one man dead and another injured, according to authorities.
The incident occurred Sunday evening, and Moorhead Police Department was called at around 5:45 p.m., according to Interim Chief Wayne Self.
The shooting took place at the car wash located at the intersection of Highway 3 and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.
Phamous Harris, 22, was pronounced dead on arrival at South Sunflower County Hospital at 7:24 p.m., according to Sunflower County Coroner Heather Burton.
Harris had been transported to SSCH by way of private vehicle from Moorhead, according to witnesses.
The other victim, whom the The Enterprise-Tocsin has chosen to not identify at this time, was also transported to SSCH by private vehicle and was later airlifted to University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson for further treatment, according to reports.
Police did not identify motives for the shooting as of press time.
Self stated that investigators are actively searching for two persons of interest connected to the case.
The Sunflower County Sheriff’s Department is assisting with the investigation and helped with crowd control at the scene.
“We are currently seeking two individuals who we believe are involved in this shooting,” Self said. “We urge anyone with information to come forward.”
The Mississippi Bureau of Investigations is leading the investigation, with assistance from local authorities.
The investigation remains ongoing, and officials have not released further details.
