Good Mornin’! Good Mornin’!
Dear Santa, I know you’re quite busy so I’ll try to make this short and to the point.
We’ll have the milk and a couple of chocolate crinkles for you and a carrot for Rudolph ready for y’all. Now, first off, thanks for bringing the Lane Train early to Ole Miss as I can see that he wouldn’t fit under the tree or in my stocking and needs to be out there recruiting. Along those lines, I’d like a new defense, you know like the Steel Curtain or the 46.
Oh, and if you can get Colonel Reb back on the sideline, we’ll be good in Rebel land for a while.
While we’re on it, a few more wins for my MDCC Trojans next year would be awesome. Oh, and if it’s not too much, we’d like to celebrate another #nolabeat State Championship next season. The regular stockpile of socks and handkerchiefs is absolutely needed and a reliable cookie press to get into cheese straw making would just be awesome. You know how much I like hats, so, please surprise me!
If you’d bring my boss, Mr. Davis a whole bunch of advertisers and subscribers this year, well, that’d just be great. He’s been working very hard this (and every) year and is a great boss.
But most of all, would you hold back the water this year and let those folks in the South Delta get back on their feet? Some nice warm and dry weather for planting would be a great touch if you could put in a word with Mother Nature, oh and a big kick in cotton and grain prices would help tremendously. I know there’s a lot on the list but a trip home would be nice with a table at Peasoup’s filled with friends and family.
I’ll let you get back to the more important letters in today’s paper, Mr. Claus. Thanks again for the read and Merry Christmas!
I’d always ‘preciate your comments here or over at Facebook, or you can tweet me @markhstowers ... See yah next week! As a freelance writer, I’m working to grow my business and have created a GoFundMe page to help with that. Please take a look and see if you can help. I’d greatly appreciate it!
There are those of us that packed up Mississippi and took it with us to new destinations and neighbors. My area code may be 248 but my heart is all about 662 and Sunflower County.
