For it is by Grace you have been saved, through faith--and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God (Ephesians 2:8).
It is amazing to me how we as people try to live on the Earth but we never tap into the design of how we are supposed to live.
Christians, if we were saved by Grace through faith and given eternal life in Heaven, wouldn’t it make sense to learn about Grace along with everything else and how it pertains to our everyday lives here on Earth?
Additionally, when the subject of Grace is taught, those who are teaching have to be mindful to teach it with balance. Balance is very important, especially when teaching the Word of God. This is why it is so important to be led by the Holy Spirit when you are speaking about God’s Word.
I was thinking about Grace one day and I believe the Lord spoke these words to me, “Grace is the safety net.”
I thought to myself, “Wow! I have never heard that before.” I quickly took my phone and typed this into my little memo app so that I wouldn’t forget what I had heard. I also heard, “Grace saves you and reminds you of what you should be doing, rather than giving you an excuse to keep repeating the same mistakes.”
The first thing that I thought about when I heard safety net was a tightrope walker. When a person walks the tightrope, there is a safety net to catch them if they make a mistake and fall.
The tightrope walker also has a pole to help them maintain balance as they walk. This is exactly how Grace works. Think of life as the tightrope, Grace as the safety net, and the pole as the word of God to balance you while walking on the tightrope of life.
Sometimes, during your journey in life, you may stray away from your foundation in the Word of God, the very thing that helps you to keep balance in your life. But the Grace of God will always be there to catch you when you fall.
Where sin abounds, Grace does much more abound (Romans 5:20). Now, does this mean that because you know Grace is there, that you can keep making the same mistakes? Absolutely not!
Grace is there to catch you when you fall and, by the same token, Grace will teach you about the mistake you made so that you won’t fall from that same mistake in the future. Grace gives you the time to make the adjustment.
For the person that decides to make the adjustment, that person will regain their footing on the tightrope of life and keep moving forward to complete their God-given assignment, which will cause them to experience Heaven on earth.
For the person that thinks they can depend on the safety net to save them and continue to make the same mistakes over and over again, that person will be stuck in the same spot until they make the necessary adjustments.
They may never make any progress, and probably will be miserable with their life because they are not completing the thing that God put them here to do. They go along in life unfulfilled.
Let’s start understanding the importance of Grace and the chances we get to make the adjustments in our lives. This was a free gift given to us by our Heavenly Father. God bless you!
