UPDATE ON DAVID JENKINS
David Jenkins is still monitoring the rainfall in Indianola. The retired director of the ASCS office in Sunflower County as well as retired real estate agent and appraiser still leads an active lifestyle. “We got 4.8 inches of rain Sunday night and early Monday morning. This puts us well above the average for June
Last year we got 72.5 inches of rain which was well above the average and it looks as if we will top that this year,” Jenkins said.
Even though he is retired, he is noted for having a beautiful garden, both vegetables and flowers. “I have had a few health problems and don’t play golf anymore but am still able to garden. I enjoy keeping busy. We have already had tomatoes from our garden,” he said.
Jenkins said that he and his wife also enjoy traveling when they can. “We’ve got children and grandchildren, she has some and I have some, so we do enjoy visiting them,” he chuckled and said.
