VFW AUXILIARY STILL GOING STRONG
The VFW Auxiliary is still very active with 85 members. Sharon Wade is still an officer and is currently serving as President of the state VFW Auxiliary. “We support our veterans and active duty soldiers. On Memorial Day we place flags at the gravesite of veterans in Indianola, Inverness and Caile. Each member of our Auxiliary adopts a military person serving overseas and sends them cards and goody packages throughout the year. We also support our VA Nursing Home in Oxford and the one in Kosciusko. We have many projects for our veterans and service people that don’t get much recognition. That’s okay because we are not in this for recognition,” Wade said.
