The city board received several complaints at last week’s board meeting, some on the humorous side. One man complained that he was allergic to the spray used for mosquito control and wants the city to turn the machine off when approaching his house. He then said that a manhole cover was loose on his street and when cars passed over it, the clanging was disturbing. A board member asked him if that was all and he said no, his water meter had sunk below ground. After that, a woman complained that some of her neighbors had fire hydrants in their yards and she wanted one in hers.

NEWS FROM MISSISSIPPI DELTA COMMUNITY COLLEGE: MDCC has named longtime PE Chair, Domino Bellipanni as its new Athletic Director. He will succeed Rabb Warnock.
UPDATE ON DOMINO BELLIPANNI
Fifteen years ago, Domino “Doc” Bellipanni was named Athletic Director at Mississippi Delta Community College.
After 30 years of service to the college in various positions, “Doc” has retired.
“I enjoyed every hour I spent at MDCC. It is a great school with wonderful people, and I will always cherish those memories,” he said.
His jovial personality, which is a Bellipanni trait, is still in full force.
“I’ll tell you something, this pandemic has just about worn me out. My wife, Karla works for Dr. Julia Hill and they were closed for a short time because of the virus, and Karla almost worked me to death. I think I painted everything in the house and it really interfered with my fishing,” Doc said.
He said that he may be officially retired from athletics but will enjoy being on the sidelines at high school football games. “My years of athletic training might come in handy should a player need my assistance,” he commented.
The Bellipannis have two children, Elizabeth who is a registered flight nurse for Air Vac and was featured in last week’s edition honoring First Responders and John who will graduate from high school this year.
