Thank you Alderman Elder, Alderman Brock, and Alderman Woods for providing for us honest folk a living, breathing example of the destruction of progress in a struggling Delta Town.
Effective elected officials never hinder a beloved volunteer from pursuing beautification projects and projects to improve the lives of the city's youth. Nor do they slap the hands of those who try to join hands across racial lines.
Your agenda of trying to bring down the present mayor goes hand in glove with that of the time-wasting women who interrupted the substance of the board meeting. It was odd to hear their hollow self-promotion efforts in contrast to the stories from community members in praise of Mrs. Rosenthal's daily involvement with young people and her spiffing up all of our neighborhoods.
Ornery aldermen and agitating women take note: Truly concerned citizens "do not seek to satisfy their thirst for freedom by drinking from the cup of bitterness and hatred". Truly concerned citizens do not walk alone, they walk with their brothers and sisters toward a common goal, the best one here being that of creating a better Indianola for all of our children.
Sincerely,
Mary Steele Failing Lawler
