My heart is broken....
My heart breaks at the world that is around me.
My heart breaks for my black brothers and sisters who are hurting.
My heart breaks for my white brothers and sisters who will not stand up for justice and what is right. My heart breaks for the police who hurt instead of protect.
My heart breaks for the police who are scared to go to work today. My heart breaks for leaders who are leading their re-election instead of our country.
My heart breaks for leaders who are trying to do what is right but are being run down and discredited. My heart breaks to think what our Father in Heaven is feeling right now.
I can only imagine how His heart is breaking. Church, we are one.
We are equal in His eyes.
We are all called to a higher purpose. We are all loved. No matter what our “rap sheet” may say.
My God is a God who forgives, no matter what our past may say. No one... may I repeat this.... no one, deserves injustice, pain, and cruelty. May justice flow like a river.
May we begin to seek justice as children of God. May we seek to show others how much they matter and how much they are loved. Remember - they will know we are Christians by our love, and that love may look different than what we are comfortable with.
It may be raising our fists with our black brothers and sisters so that they know they are loved, wanted, and worth standing up for. Church - let’s lay down our pride today and be the hands and feet of Christ.
May we love how He loves and see others the way He sees others. And remember, when the enemy is speaking lies, the Father is singing His truth.
