Dear Editor:
We do several harms or injustices to our hometown when we hire department heads and allow them to like in Greenville – ( out of town) and we pay for them to commute here to work.
Case in point, our Consolidated School Superintendent flies a F150 sixty (60) miles per day to and from Greenville to Indianola to work. A $50,000 machine. It would be interesting to know the neighborhood she grew up in before she came here.
Greenville has more dilapidated neighborhoods than Indianola has, and you cannot drink the water.
We have neighborhoods with price ranges from free to two (2) million dollars. I find it difficult to believe she could not fit into these communities.
Are we progressing in our academic standings? We pay union wages we should at least move up to an F+ (F-plus). Is the law to diminish and return still relevant? My taxes are the same as other counties with A and B rating school systems.
