Greetings,
Thank you for allowing us to hear your subjective opinion, however I respectfully disagree with your editorial comments based on the article written by “Recardo Thomas, entitled “Tempers, blood pressure spike over District 13. This article as well as your editorial comments is filled with fallacies and misleading information which includes but is not limited to the following:
•First and foremost Senator Willie Simmons is not a member of Greater Springfield M.B Church of Greenville, Mississippi, where I serve as Pastor, however he is a long time standing member of Solomon Chapel AME Church of Cleveland, Mississippi.
•Secondly the reference of the “Political Puppet was not directed to the Board Attorney John McWilliams, however it was directed to the Sunflower County Board of Trustee President Mr. Glenn Donald which permitted Senator Willie Simmons to address the board in a prior meeting concerning the proposed plan of District 22 in effort to “hoodwink” the board. Consequently I petition the board President twice on this same matter and was denied. “May 3 and May 17, 2019”
• Furthermore in the Editorial Comments in reference to bridge burning is an aptly used cliché’ but inaccurately used toward me. I am very adamant about burning the bridges of injustice, hypocrisy, silencing the voice of our people, and stealing their political rights. These types of comments I believe are intended to inflame and agitate our people in order to promote a divisive plan of action (Gerrymandering). In closing Mr. Bryan Davis, I humbly suggest that we abandon the political platform of hostility and malice and that you walk with me, the Sunflower County Board of Trustee, and certainly the citizens of District 13 after the court’s decision on June 10, 2019 in “Turning Obstacles into Opportunities”. As we march across Bridges and make history once again in the great State of Mississippi on August 6, 2019.
Respectfully Submitted
