Congressman Bennie Thompson Announces $1 Million Awarded to Hinds County Mental Health Commission
United States Representative Bennie G. Thompson (D-MS) recently announced the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services Center for Mental Health Services has awarded $1,000,000 in FY 2022 Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic Planning, Development, and Implementation Grant funds to Hinds County Mental Health Commission.
The intent of the Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic Planning, Development, and Implementation (CCBHC-PDI) grant program is to (a) assist organizations in the planning for and development and implementation of a CCBHC that meets the CCBHC Certification Criteria, (b) provide a comprehensive range of outreach, screening, assessment, treatment, care coordination, and recovery supports based on a needs assessment that aligns with the CCBHC Certification Criteria, and (c) support recovery from mental illness and/or substance use disorders (SUD) by providing access to high-quality mental health and SUD services, regardless of an individual’s ability to pay.
Congressman Bennie Thompson Announces over $4 Million in Grants to Improve Access to Good Jobs and Training in Lower Mississippi Delta
United States Representative Bennie G. Thompson (D-MS) announced the U.S. Department of Labor in partnership with the Delta Regional Authority – awards totaling $4,183,266, to provide education, training and supportive services in regions that have suffered significant job losses in the energy extraction industry.
The Workforce Opportunity for Rural Communities (WORC) Initiative helps rural communities address historic inequities and to produce good, quality jobs for dislocated and other workers in rural communities in the Appalachian and Delta regions. The grants also help communities diversify their local economies by developing a skilled workforce and providing equitable access to underserved and underrepresented communities.
