Below is a press release from the Ridgeland Tourism Commission:
Father & Son Fishing Team Dan and Hayden Jeffries from Brandon, MS just returned home from Branson, Missouri where they took home the top prize of $100,000 as First Place winners at the Mr. Crappie Invitational Classic on Table Rock Lake. This tournament marked the third national fishing championship win for the duo within a month’s time.
The Jeffries team won the 2022 Crappie Masters National Championship at Granada Lake on September 24 and came home with a $30,000 prize. Then they headed to Monroe, LA to win the American Crappie Trail National Championship on the Ouachita River for the top prize worth $15,000.
At just 22 years old, Hayden Jeffries, who recently graduated from Mississippi College with a degree in Business Administration, is already working full-time as a professional fishing guide on the Ross Barnett Reservoir and taking the Crappie fishing world by storm. He and his father Dan Jeffries are proving to be the dynamic-duo after fishing more than 22 tournaments in 2022.
“I contribute a lot of my success to my home lake, Ross Barnett Reservoir,” said Hayden Jeffries, “You can fish for different types of fish in both shallow and deep water.”
Dan Jeffries, who is employed by Capitol Body Shop, says he’s happy to be his son’s “net man,” and to help his son chase his dreams in the fishing industry.
