It is the time of year when the weather traditionally plays havoc with a baseball schedule.
Living up to its reputation, consistent rainfall canceled Indianola Academy’s Tuesday home-field match-up with Pillow Academy of Greenwood.
However, that contest for the 0-3 Colonels was rescheduled to Wednesday on the Mustangs’ field; an adjustment which rendered the results of that game unavailable at press-time.
Moving on, the Colonels will return to Pillow Academy today for another 6 p.m. clash with the Mustangs.
Although Spring Break occurs next week, the Colonels will be using that time to squeeze in another pair of games.
Traveling to Vicksburg on Monday, the IA squad will visit St. Aloysius Catholic School for a 6 p.m. game against the Flashes.
Next Tuesday’s schedule is expected to bring Deer Creek School of Arcola to the IA field. This projected season home-opener’s first pitch is to be thrown at 6 p.m.
In IA’s most recent action last Saturday in Columbus, the young squad suffered a 16-4 loss to a strong Heritage Academy host team.
This was followed hours later with a 10-0 loss to Lee Academy of Clarksdale.
Conner Roncali’s double would lead the IA hitting attack over the course of this doubleheader.
