One final home game turned into one final loss for the 2024 Gentry High Rams football team. Closing out the season last Friday night on their home field, the Rams dropped an 18-6 regional decision to the visiting Hornets of Greenville High School. In a very physical game, the Rams and the Hornets battled to a 6-6 first half deadlock. However, missed scoring opportunities haunted the Rams in the second half while the Hornets twice found the end zone in that time period. The loss moved the Rams’ final record to a 1-10, 0-5 mark. Meanwhile, although their season also ended, the Hornets’ victory improved their record to 2-8, 1-4 on the year. There were 21 Gentry High seniors wearing their Rams uniform for the final time last Friday night. Included in this large group were Mitchell Davis, Kyran Galvin, Jaylon Gibson, Amariyon Glover, Adarian Gooden, Jerrious Jackson, Jaden Jordan, Tyler Liddell, Jaterence Longmire, DeMarco Marshall Jr., Nazavier McGrew, Dalton Milam, Kadarrius Minton, Fione Rice, Bryson Smith, Kylan Smith, Kenzavious Stanton, Malique Walker, Jarek Watson, Zayquviyon Williams and Tyran Woods.
