A familiar opponent is coming to the Gentry High School baseball field today.
And that visitor will find a Rams squad hungry for its first victory of the season.
Making the short drive from Ruleville will be the Tigers of Thomas Edwards High School, who will arrive for a 4 p.m. non-regional matchup with the Rams.
That game will serve as the Rams’ second home game of the week as this past Wednesday saw Humphreys County High School of Belzoni visit the Gentry High campus.
The results of that game with the Cowboys were unavailable at press time.
The Rams took a 0-5, 0-2 record into that game with Humphreys County, a won-loss mark which included last Friday’s 19-0 Region 2-5A loss to Greenville High School.
In other future action, the Rams will travel to Yazoo City High School next Monday for a 4 p.m. regional clash with the Indians.
Regional action will continue to occur at a steady pace for the Rams as next Tuesday will find them hosting Canton High School.
This upcoming week’s baseball schedule also includes yet another home- field regional matchup; for next Thursday will be the game day and the competition will be the Wolves of Cleveland Central High School.
Both games are scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
