Samuel Michael Vincent, 72, died Monday, June 10, 2024, in Jackson, after a brief illness.
Michael was born April 25, 1952, in Indianola, to Col. (Ret.) Samuel and Bettye Vincent. Michael was an "Army brat" and along with his siblings attended many schools before graduating from Ft. Knox High School. He enrolled in his beloved Mississippi State University and quickly became a lifelong Bulldog. Mike graduated from State with a degree in nuclear engineering in 1974.
Michael was an avid golfer who could be found on the driving range or the golf course most days. He loved music and acquired a large music collection. He also enjoyed spending time with his immediate family as well as his extended family. Michael loved the Lord and served his church as a lector for many years at St. Therese's in Jackson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Bettye Vincent, and brothers, Mark Vincent and Paul Vincent.
Michael is survived by his two sisters, Tami Moore of Greenwood, and Joy Minshew and her husband, Chuck, of Keller, Texas; and his brother, Shane Vincent and his wife, Alicia, of Richland. He was the proud uncle of Lance Moore, Lauren Moore, Amber Vincent, Mark Vincent, Sam Vincent, Christie Lewis, Casey Minshew and nine great-nieces and nephews. His absence in his family will be felt deeply.
A memorial service will held at a later date. Burton Funeral Home of Indianola has been entrusted with arrangements.
