The Sunflower County Consolidated School District (SCCSD) recognized its retiring staff members during its regular board meeting on June 10 in Indianola. The ceremony celebrated the dedication and service of educators and support staff who are concluding their careers within the district.
The retirees, honored for their years of commitment, include a diverse group of educators and support personnel. The ceremony featured awards acknowledging their years of service within SCCSD, with special recognition for Denise Whitley, who has the longest tenure among the retirees with 28 years of service. It is important to note that these years reflect only their time within SCCSD; many of these individuals have accumulated additional years working in other school districts prior to their service here.
