The third suspect wanted in an apparent triple homicide in Drew on Thursday turned a firearm on himself after he was surrounded this morning by authorities.
Sunflower County Sheriff James Haywood told The Enterprise-Tocsin that the suspect had been surrounded following a chase in the unincorporated Rome community a few miles north of Drew and that authorities did not have an opportunity to speak with him.
Haywood said that life-saving measures were being taken at the scene and that MedStat was in route to assist as of publication time.
Two other suspects had been apprehended in the Rome community following the discovery of the bodies of three females in a Drew residence on Thursday morning.
Multiple agencies, including the Drew Police Department, Ruleville Police Department, Sunflower County Sheriff’s Department, the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation and the K-9 unit from the Mississippi State Penitentiary at Parchman are all working multiple scenes.
Haywood said that no other suspects are wanted at this time.
This is a developing story.
