Monique Shavette Cocroft of Moorhead and Willie David White Jr. of Indianola were united in marriage on Saturday, June 8th, 2019, at five o’clock in the afternoon at Full Gospel Apostolic Church of Indianola. Pastor Herman Cole officiated the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Billy Joe and Roxy Johnson of Moorhead. She is the granddaughter of Annie Pearl Hopkins, also of Moorhead
The groom is the son of Willie and Elizabeth Jennings of Indianola.
He is the grandson of the late Reverend James and Rosetta White and the late Alexander and Annie Jennings.
The bride wore a Mermaid sheer lace, off white, floor length dress. The bodice was off-the-shoulder with gorgeous appliques, touched with sparkle. The A-line gown was embellished with embroidery.
Matrons of Honor were Maritha Freeman and Stephanie Wyms. Serving as Maids of Honor were Komiko Brown, Niki Burns, Kimberly Johnson and Sparsula Simmons. Bridesmaids were Shacressa Burns, Contessia Owens, Cecelia Bates, LaZariah Cartridge, Kajuandra Chandler, Whitney Lee, Crystal Thomas, Alicia Williams, Sahara Johnson, Shanekia Kemp, Rossini Johnson and Kena Beaman.
Flower Girls were Omaria Wright and Tyra Lank and serving as the Future Bride was R’Zoriah Davis.
Reginald White served his brother as Best Man. Groomsmen were David Lee, T.K. Bolden, Marvell Hillie, Marcus Williams, Corvise Little, Derrick Little, Michael Ginn, Carl White Jr., Jeremy Cocroft, Dexter Parson, Juan Cocroft and Staddrick McDaniel.
Serving as ushers were Billy Cocroft Jr. and Timothy Wyms. Eric Freeman Jr. was Ring Bearer and Juan Cocroft was Bible Carrier. Jadarrius Rice served as Broom Carrier and serving as the Future Groom was Cordelro Donald Jr.
Following the ceremony, friends and family attended a reception at E.E. Bass Cultural Arts Center in Greenville, where Lorriah Gulley, Tatyona Culpepper and Marrekiana Ivory served as hostesses.
On the eve of the wedding, a rehearsal dinner was held at Burns Healthcare Institute in Indianola.
After a honeymoon at an all-inclusive resort in Cancun, Mexico the couple will reside in Indianola.
