A Southaven man was killed in a Saturday crash on Highway 448 in Sunflower County.
According to a release from the Mississippi Department of Public Safety, a 2020 Ram 1500 pickup truck driven by 20-year-old Lakeland Clark of Benoit traveled east on Highway 448 when it collided with a 2023 Hyundai Elantra driven by 33-year-old Martez L. Duncan of Southaven, traveling west on Highway 448.
Martez L. Duncan received fatal injuries from the crash and was pronounced deceased on the scene, the release said.
Lakeland Clark was injured and taken to a local hospital. John H. Gordon, a passenger in the Ram 1500, was transported to UMMC in Jackson with serious injuries, according to the release.
The crash remains under investigation by the Mississippi Highway Patrol.
