With a young squad on the court, the Gentry High Lady Rams basketball team is looking for an additional win early in this young season.
Picking up their first victory of the season Tuesday night with a home-court 57-24 victory over Amanda Elzy High, the 1-1 Lady Rams used the decision to rebound from last Thursday’s season-opening 64-35 loss to Clinton High School.
The next opportunity for Head Coach Sarita Cooper-White’s squad will occur next Tuesday when Cleveland Central High School visits the Gentry High gym for a 6 p.m. non-regional clash.
As for the Lady Rams recent action against Amanda Elzy High, the Lady Rams’ scoring efforts were led by Shacori Dawson’s strong 17 point outing.
Also reaching double digit scoring status with 14 points in this contest was Jaidra Green.
Meanwhile, in last Thursday’s loss to Clinton High, the Gentry squad experienced a sluggish first half start before rallying back in the second half of play. However, the Lady Arrows had built a 36-15 first half lead which was too large for the Lady Rams to overcome.
In this game, the Lady Rams’ scoring was led by Dawson’s 12 point night of play.
