One final regular season basketball game and then it is on to post-season play for the Indianola Academy Colonels.
With a 7 p.m. visit to Canton Academy next Monday, the 0-18, 0-8 Colonels will follow that contest by beginning their competition in the District 2-3A Tournament.
Set to begin Wednesday, February 5 at Carroll Academy, the game times and opponents are to be announced.
In their past week of action, the Colonels most recently suffered losses to Manchester Academy (53-51) and Oak Hill Academy (58-22).
Against Manchester Academy, Monday night’s final IA home game turned into a nail-biter after the Colonels saw a 37-28 lead disappear in the fourth quarter.
Dropping 15 points apiece through the basket to lead the IA scoring in this game were Cole Ferrell and Ashton Powell.
Additional IA basketball action occurred last Friday when the Colonels fell 63-29 to visiting Carroll Academy.
Cole Ferrell’s 11 point night of play led the IA scoring in this game.
One night earlier, the Colonels dropped a hard-fought 39-36 road decision to Central Holmes Christian School in Lexington.
Grant Coleman recorded a dozen points in this contest to lead the Colonels while John Suddoth and Ferrell added eight points apiece to the IA point total.
