There is now only one final Region 3-4A regular season basketball game remaining for the Gentry High Lady Rams basketball team.
Set to occur this Friday on the Gentry High court, it will be Clarksdale High School who arrives for this all-important 6 p.m. clash with the 13-10, 4-3 Lady Rams.
Other 6 p.m. upcoming action for the Lady Rams is set to occur this Saturday at Humphreys County High in Belzoni.
The Lady Rams’ regular season schedule will then conclude February 7 with a home-court visit by Shaw High School.
These games will precede the Region 3-4A Tournament set to begin February 10 at Greenwood High School.
In their most recent action this past Tuesday, the Lady Rams traveled to Yazoo City High School and earned a 49-24 regional victory.
Outscoring their competition in every quarter of the game, the Lady Rams benefited from a trio of players posting 10 points apiece on the scoreboard.
This double digit scoring group includes Darlencia Coleman, Amber Curtis, and Taniyah Williams.
Meanwhile, last Friday on their own court, the Lady Rams dropped a 51-49 regional decision to Greenwood High School.
After taking a 24-21 halftime lead to the dressing room, the Lady Rams saw their advantage disappear in the third quarter when the Lady Bulldogs erupted on a 17-11 scoring spree.
Although the Lady Rams rallied back a bit in the final quarter with a14-13 scoring edge, it was not enough to avoid their ultimate three point loss.
Pacing the scoring for the Lady Rams in this game was Coleman, as the sophomore dropped 15 points through the basket.
