With the opportunity to record their sixth consecutive 20 win season now available, the Gentry High Rams will not have to travel far this coming week to reach that impressive plateau.
While this Saturday brings Leflore County High of Itta Bena to the Gentry High gym, next Tuesday takes Head Coach Chico Potts’ 19-6, 7-0 Rams to Greenwood High for their final Region 3-4A match-up of the season.
In their only action this past week, last Saturday saw the Rams defeat a strong Shaw High School squad by a 64-61 margin.
Erupting to a 32-26 halftime lead, that six point lead ultimately enabled the Rams to withstand a Hawks fourth quarter rally.
Darrius Clark had the hot hand for the Rams in this game as the senior drilled 22 points through the basket.
Also reaching double digit scoring for Gentry High with 14 points was Sharmarvious Hodges.
