While the Indianola Academy Colonels basketball season has yet to begin, all of that will change next Monday.
For that night Greenville St. Joseph High School visits the IA gym with the Lady Colonels tipping off at 6 p.m. with the Colonels playing their season-opener immediately thereafter.
This contest will precede the District 1AAA opener to be played next Tuesday at North Delta School in Batesville. Tipoff for the girl’s game is 6 p.m.
While the extended football season has delayed boys basketball action, the Lady Colonels have thus far accumulated a 2-4 record, recently enhanced by Tuesday night’s 52-32 victory over St. Joseph High.
In this contest, Anna Berry Stevens paced the scoring with a strong 21 point outing while Lizzy Smith also reached double figure status with her 10 point performance.
Jill Roberts also reached double digits in rebounding as brought down 10 errant shots to go along with her eight points scored.
