One more non-district basketball contest, and then district play commences.
That is the scenario for the 4-6 Indianola Academy Lady Colonels who open their District 2-3A competition Friday against the visiting Oak Hill Academy Lady Raiders from West Point.
However, there is a non-district clash on tap this evening in the IA gym when Lee Academy of Clarksdale comes to town.
Both contests will tipoff at 6 p.m.
In their action this past week, the Lady Colonels most recently were dealt a 31-25 road loss by Kirk Academy in Grenada.
A Kirk Academy 20-14 halftime lead proved to be the undoing of the Lady Colonels as both teams posted 11 second half points on the scoreboard.
Mattie Beth Williamson’s six point, nine rebound performance paced the IA efforts in this game.
Other road action last Thursday yielded the Lady Colonels a 60-22 loss to Bayou Academy in Cleveland.
Shelby Landrum’s 13 points led the Lady Colonels’ scoring efforts this night.
