Hoping to work their way back into the win column, the 4-3 Gentry High Lady Rams basketball team has a pair of road trips up next on their schedule.
With both games tipping off at 6 p.m., this Friday will find the Gentry High squad at Ruleville Central High while next Tuesday brings a visit to Amanda Elzy High in Greenwood.
In their most recent play Tuesday night against visiting Holmes Central County High of Lexington, the Lady Rams dropped a heart-stopping 53-51 decision to the Jaguars.
Other action this past week included two wins in two tries during the Lady Rams’ own Thanksgiving Classic Tournament play.
Opening with a 61-24 demolition of Aberdeen High last Friday, the Lady Rams followed one day later with a solid 54-33 victory over Hollandale Simmons High School.
In this win over the Blue Devils, the Lady Rams used a 28-4 second quarter surge to distance themselves from the Hollandale team.
Mercedes Hayes’ double double paced this effort as she bucketed 18 points while bringing down 11 rebounds in the contest.
In their win over Aberdeen High, three Lady Rams reached double digit scoring status and were led by Khanijah White’s dozen point performance.
Following close behind with 11 and 10 points respectively were Nihya Davis and Shacori Dawson.
