Following an open date, the North Sunflower Academy Rebels return to action this Friday night when they will host Briarfield Academy of Lake Providence, La. at 7p.m.
This non-district clash features a pair of unbeaten teams as the NSA Rebels will put their 1-0 record on the line against another squad of Rebels bringing a 2-0 record across the Mississippi River.
While NSA was idle last week, Briarfield Academy was at home busy pummeling Sharkey-Issaquena Academy of Rolling Fork by a 68-18 margin.
Displaying much offense thus far this season, the Briarfield squad opened their 2017 season two weeks ago with a 50-0 pasting of Delta Academy of Marks.
Last season, the Louisiana squad finished with a 6-4 record and the last time they met NSA on a football field was during the 2013 campaign. NSA has also won all six meetings since the 2004 season.
