Every victory is important, it is just that some mean more than others.
Such is the case for the 8-1 Gentry High Rams basketball team.
For this Friday night the Rams will open their Region 3-4A play with a trip to Rosa Fort High School in Tunica.
However, this venture into regional play will be brief.
Closing out a five-game string of road trips, next Tuesday takes the Rams back into non-regional action and to Holmes County High School in Lexington.
Both upcoming games are scheduled to tipoff at 7 p.m.
In the Rams play this past week, Wednesday night was spent at Cleveland Central High School, where the results of that game were unavailable at press-time.
Meanwhile in other action, the Rams were successful in last Saturday’s visit to Greenville High School.
Outscoring the Hornets 59-42, the Rams took a 25-11 lead to the dressing room at halftime, and then increased their lead by another three points over the course of the second half of the game.
Leading the scoring for the Rams was Jesse Hull, whose double double included 17 points and a dozen rebounds.
Also reaching double digit status in the rebound category was Orlando Liddell, Jr. Liddell completed his night’s play by pulling down 10 errant shots.
