With a fiercely fought 62-58 road win over visiting Holmes County Central High of Lexington on Tuesday night, the 6-3 Gentry High Rams will now take to the road.
Additional upcoming basketball action for the Rams continues this Friday with a trip to cross-county foe Ruleville Central High.
Tipoff for this non-regional clash against the Tigers will begin at approximately 7 p.m.
Another 7 p.m. road game is also scheduled for next Tuesday when the Rams visit Amanda Elzy High in Greenwood.
In Tuesday night’s home court win over Holmes County Central High, the Rams won.
Other action this past week included a pair of victories in last weekend’s Gentry High Thanksgiving Classic.
Opening their play in the tournament last Friday with a 76-37 pounding of Aberdeen High, the Rams followed up on Saturday with an 85-52 defeat of Hollandale Simmons High School.
In that 33 point win over the Blue Devils, the Rams benefited from a trio of players reaching double digit scoring status.
This trio was led by Darrius Clark’s double double which included 24 points and 11 rebounds. However, plenty of help was had from Robert Bell and Shamarvious Hodges, who posted 16 and 12 points respectively on the scoreboard.
One night prior, the Rams registered their 39 point victory over the Bulldogs of Aberdeen High.
While Clark again pumped 24 points through the basket, Bell completed his night’s play with a 14 point outing.
